Called the doctor, woke him up..

I've neglected this blog.. D: Really horribly, I have neglected it.
I still have pictures from the holidays, the move, etc. And, now that things have calmed down, I'm going to start posting them.

In the mean time, though, I thought I would share a video I uploaded from our Anniversary trip to St. Louis.

The whole point of going on this trip was to go to the City Museum. It was an interactive museum which I had learned about through (funny enough) my ex-boyfriend Chris. He had posted pictures on Facebook and it looks like an unbelievable amount of fun. And it was!

One of my favorite things there was the World Aquarium. Or, more specifically, the "doctor fish". It was this semi-small box full of these tiny little feeder fish. The idea was that before and after your walk through the World Aquarium, you would stick your hand into the water and the fish would clean all the dirt and dry skin off of your hands.

Matt, of course, immersed almost his whole arm in immediately upon seeing the option become available. And, although I do like fish (they're pretty and shiny and slippery and cool, etc.), they've always freaked me out a little. So I was a little more hesitant (as evidenced in this video).
The reason I haven't posted it before is mainly because I'm such a embarrassing wuss in it. lol It really wasn't that bad! It just felt like about 78 cats licking your fingers at the same time. But I thought you all might get a kick out of it:

I'll be posting actual pictures soon! And, on my food blog, you can look forward to a recipe for Chicken Satay this weekend! It's finally come around to my choice, and it'll be my first time hosting Project Pastry Queen. So please check into that, as well!

I love you!

We Will Become Silhouettes

It's been a very busy week with a very empty weekend.
Being sick made everything so panicked and urgent, and, now that I'm 95% better (but still rather tuckered out) the weekend went by quickly and less than eventful. I can't believe we have to go back to work tomorrow! I was anticipating taking off for Fall Break, but it turns out that I'll only be able to take off on Tuesday from work since Caroline decided to take off for both days at the last minute. So I'm hoping tomorrow will go quickly and then I'll have all day to rest and clean on Tuesday.

love of mine

I'm looking forward to seeing you all this weekend! Maybe we can go to the Melting Pot for an early anniversary celebration (and mostly so dad can try it out). Or go see a movie or something. The Legend of the Guardians looks so fun. ♥

Tomorrow, I'm making corn and crab chowder and, for dessert, a pumpkin coffee cake with cinnamon apple glaze. I haven't been able to cook this past week, so I owe Matt a really nice meal. (And I think Matt's making Turkey "Beggar" Stew on Wednesday - which I'm really excited to eat. It' delicious.) And, if I decide to put it on my food blog, I'm looking forward to using my camera for the first time in a post. I've been really enjoying my new camera.

Matt and I have been watching Hoarders and getting inspired to clean. And we're, sadly, done with 30 Rock on instant queue (Netflix).. which is so sad. It's definitely one of my new favorite shows and has greatly improved my opinion of Tracy Morgan.
Outside of that, I pre-ordered my moleskine journal for 2011; I'm expecting it to come in about a week or so. And no tests this week! (although, I have three the following week.) So all I have to worry about is cleaning for your visit and watching my shows on Monday and Tuesday. haha

I hope your week goes really well. And I'll talk to you soon.

And we'll all float on okay

Today

Today was much of the same. I'm upset that I missed the office homecoming party, but I didn't want to risk getting sicker or getting someone else sick. Whatever I have/had was horrible.. I don't feel like inflicting that on someone else.

Shadow cats

I have two tests tomorrow. My Biology lab midterm - which I'm not terribly nervous about but assume will be difficult - and my second Life Span Development exam - which I am extremely nervous for since it is my 8am class (and, thus, the class I am least likely to pay attention in..).

Thankfully, we didn't have a lab to perform this week. Although, I did miss signing up for the 50 point optional lab on Monday and Tuesday from being sick. But there's the 25 point lab (which is, admittedly, much easier for me to work my schedule around) that I'm still going to do for this weekend.

Where we keep our keys

And, speaking of this weekend, it's fall break! I'm pretty excited about that.. I'm not sure if my parents (you!) are coming to visit or not, but, either way, it'll be nice to have that time off. I doubt I'll get Monday off from work. But having a Tuesday without school (my biggest stress) will be exquisite.

Color me cute

Last night, Matt took the camera and played for a while. This is my favorite picture from his adventures.
Doesn't Chandler have a dragon maw? Our Toothless. ♥ He looks like a crocodile whenever you get too close to his mouth.

I am blessed to be surrounded every day by three critters (of various size and shape) that love me endlessly. I enjoy being the only girl, surrounded by protection. ♥

Just call me Peggy Ann McKay

The grand view from my couch-home

This is the scenic view from the couch (or, as I've come to call it, "the sick bay"). As per usual, Matthew has decided to share his bi-annual cold/virus/plague with me. It always, sadly, seems to hit me harder, though. I manage to keep it longer and adapt it into a more complex symphony of misery.
Hopefully, though, today will be the worst of it.

Tomorrow we're having our homecoming party at work. I can't imagine Marcia would be very pleased with me if I missed it, so I need to make sure to go to bed nice and early tonight. And I need to make sure I drink plenty of fluids.

As a side note, Matt and I recently started watching 30 Rock, and it's hilarious. If you haven't watched any of it, it's really funny. It was another one of those shows (like all my other favorite shows) that I never thought I would like. But it's definitely worth your time to check out.

A new camera calls for new blog.

After much pining, I went out with Matt today and get a new camera.

Dr. Daggett is a loaf

I have been wanting a D-SLR for quite some time, but, mainly due to the price, I kept putting it off. I've been saving, though, and today seemed like as good a day as any to indulge. I buy very few extra things (outside of pieces from new MAC collections), and, what with my food blog and with my family being so far away, it seems like a really decent camera is a good investment. I decided to get the Nikon D5000; we got a really great deal at Target and I'm so happy with the purchase.

So, I'm going to start posting a new picture to Flickr everyday. And I'll try to post here every week (or more!).

Matt and I are excited to begin this adventure. ♥
